Non- Stampin Project: Hand Made Soaps....

Hey everyone -

Okay I must admit although my passion is papercrafting from time to time I dabble in some other crafts....I put this picture up on Facebook and got a HUGE request for how to do these so I put together some instructions.  Sorry but I don't have additional pictures other then the final one here but if you have any questions please post a comment or email me personally at  I will be creating a couple other soap making ideas and will make sure to create proper tutorials with those!! :-D  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies you will need:
Molds to make your soap - This can include * formal soap molds, cookie cutters on wax paper on a cookie sheet, or any type of paper carton like a milk or juice carton. (When using cookie cutters I tend to find it is easier to use a cookie sheet with a high lip side or brownie pan and then cut out the images.)
*Glycerin soap -clear or white
*Fragrance of your choice -I used strawberry
*Blue and Red dies
Glass measuring cup
Spoons to mix the soap

*All these items can be purchased at any local craft store.

1)  The first thing you want to do is take the glycerin soap and cut up blocks according to how much soap you are going to work with first.  Put it in the Glass measuring cup and put it in the microwave for 40 seconds.  Take it out and stir and continue for roughly 10-20 second increments until the soap is completely melted.
2) You will then add your fragrance - just a couple drops will do but you can add more or less depending on how strong you want your soap smell.  Stir well until you see the desired color you are looking for.
3) Next pour into the mold of your choice.  Within 30 seconds or so you will start to see the soap start to set.  Make sure to fill to the top of the mold or you will lose parts of the image when you pop the soap out.
4)  Lightly tap the mold to remove air bubbles.
5)  Once the soap has set you can just pop them out and BAM you have hand made soap.

Have fun with simple 1-2-3 project.  Makes great teacher gifts, co-worker gifts, or create a basket for a bridal or baby shower.  Skies the limit.  :-)

50 - 40th Wedding Anniversary Invitations

Hello everyone -

I am so proud to share that my parents will be coming up on their 40th wedding Anniversary this month, and next month we are having a little party for them, where they will renew their vows.  I wanted something simple and quick to get in the mail ASAP and thought because this truly is such a simple invite I would share a bit on how to make them.  Please keep in mind, I used some retired products in the creation of the invitation but it is all too easy to replace those items with the new ones in the catalog.

Lets begin:
You will need card stock of your choice, a border punch, the big heart punch, a paper trimmer, personal printer, a stamp set of your choice, as well as an ink pad of your choice.  This border punch happens to be retired but could easily be replaced with any one of three of our border punches listed in our catalog.

I used Chocolate Chip C.S. for the card itself, Rose Red C.S. for the hearts as well as for the ink for the stamped image I choose, and Tempting Turquoise C.S. for the piece used for the border.

First thing I did was cute 50 cards from an 8 1/2 x 11 piece of Chocolate Chip C.S.
I then cute roughly a hand full of cards from the same size C.S. in Rose Red so when I punched out the hearts I would get three full hearts across each piece and would waste less C.S.
I then cut the border pieces which is the same size in width as the card itself and you can choose whatever size strip you want for your border.
I then punched the border using the border punch.

You will want to run your C.S. through your printer.  Simply create your invitation in word with whatever font you choose.  I did a landscape layout for this card.  I printed four invitations per piece of Very Vanilla C.S.  Once all printed I cut them down to size.  Then I took a stamp set of my choice and stamped the images along the sides of the invitation.

I then folded the Chocolate Chip C.S. in half....

.....and added the inside by adhering the invitation to the inside of the card.

After this is done you are going to work on the outside of the card.

Here I took the border and attached it to roughly the middle or so of the card and also added the Your Invited piece which were also run through my printer.  These pieces are flat on the front of the card.

Next I added the heart to the card....the heart was not only punched with the big heart punch but before I punched this out I ran it through the big shot with a textured plate to give it a more classy look and some dry embossing.  The heart is also raised using stamping dimensionals.

When it is all done this will be your end result!  If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me and I will answer any questions you may have.  Thanks for visiting!! :-)

Punch Art Tuesday (AKA..Wednesday): Halloween

Good morning everyone -

So in the title you see it says Punch Art Tuesday but yet it's Wednesday......I want to get everyone in a routine because Tuesday will be the NEW punch art day.  Every Tuesday a new Punch Art creation will post to my blog!! :-)

With that said I will share this Halloween card that went up on my FB page earlier this morning......It is super easy to make and requires just one punch to make it happen.

I personally created the fence by cutting strips of chocolate chip c.s. out, cutting the tips at an angle to give a pointed look on the top of the fence, and then added some lines to detail an old fence look.  The ghosts were created by simple punching out two owls, flipping them upside down and cutting off the feet part. Add some eyes and a mouth and BOO!!!  Enjoy!

The following supplies were used to create this cute card:

Basic Black C.S Item # 121045
Basic Black Marker Item #100082
Chocolate Chip C.S. Item #102128
Early Espresso Marker Item #119680
Wild Wasabi Ribbon Item #126873
Owl Punch Item # 118074
Googly Ghouls Stamp Set Item # 128063 (Holiday Catalog)
Googlies Item #127539 (Holiday Catalog)

This a very easy project to do with the kids, to use as a Halloween Invitation, or simply just to say Happy Halloween to a special friend.  Happy Stamping!!
