Night 8: 13 Nights of Halloween -Stampin' Up! Style

Good evening everyone!  I hope your week has been a good one.  So yesterday, we chatted about how important it is to have fun details for events.

Tonight I am going to share how to create fun garland for your Halloween festivities.  This picture tutorial will help you create easy garland using Stampin' Up!'s Spooky Night Designer Series paper and Cat punch. Let's begin....

First you will gather your supplies. You will need the kittycat piece of designer series paper from the Spooky Night 12x12 pack, some scissors, the cat punch, pot-it notes, tear and tape, and whatever colored baker's twine you would like to use.
Next you will cut out the cats so you have a number of orange and black cats, making sure you have two cats for each attached garland piece.
Now you will learn a simple trick I like to use when punching these kitty cats.  When it comes to needing to punch out pieces that are not giving you enough room to hold onto the cardstock or paper.  Small or large will do. (As you can see, this pink girl has pink ...lol)

Next take a post-it note and a cat piece. Turn the cat upside down and put the post it note over the end closest to you.
You will then take your cat punch and line up the cat. I always like to do this part upside down so I can see what I am punching even if there isn't a need to see an image.
Punch the cat out. You will have a small piece of the post-it note on your cat but all you have to do is remove it and your cat is ready to proceed with use.
Here you can see the two cats are ready and unharmed from the post-it note.
Next use some tear and tape or a sticky adhesive that will hold your baker's twine.  Lay it very heavily on one side of the cat.
Peel the backs off and adhere the baker's twine down over the adhesive towards the center, or if you would like your cats at a little angle feel free to line it at an angle.
Next you will line of the second cat on top of the first one and press down firmly.  You will start to add additional cats so it starts to look like a strand.
You will keep adding cats onto your strand of baker's twine until you have your desired garland for your decorations.  I personally think they are really cute!!!
