Faux Stain-Glass Butterflies

Hi everyone. I love butterflies and I love sparkly things.  This technique I am sharing with you today combines both.  I often like to say that Butterflies always leave a little bit of sparkle wherever they go. I hope you enjoy this quick tutorial.

1. In order to create this beautiful butterfly, you will stamp the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set in VersaMark on your choice of a piece of Painted with Love Specialty designer series paper.
2. You will then take black embossing powder and sprinkle it liberally over the image until it is all covered.
3. Next tap of the excess powder and make sure all the areas of the stamped image have powder on it.
4. Take your heat tool and heat the embossing powder making sure not to leave the heat in one spot for longer then needed. The powder will turn a solid black color, that is how you will know it is set. (If you do not have embossing powder, use black ink and stamp your image. Be sure to let it dry completely before you do the next step)

5. Next you cut out your butterfly and add it to your project.

To get this exact card you will need: the Color Me Happy Project Kit, Gold Glitter Flakes, Tear and Tape, dimensional, Black Ink, and Tombow Glue.

Take a Rich Razzleberry card base, one white diagonal piece of cardstock, a powder pink banner piece, the sequin and star packet and put them aside from the Color Me Happy Project Kit.

Next you will take the words from the Beautiful Day "Always Thinking of You" and stamp this in Black ink on the powder pink banner.

Then take a strip of tear and tape and line the diagonal white piece both at the edge, and corner and sprinkle gold glitter flakes over top and press down so it sticks in a flat formation.

Next you will adhere this piece to your card base with your adhesive of choice and adhere the banner at the top of the card base with dimensionals.

Take your butterfly and add dimensionals or foam tape to adhere it onto the card.

The last step is to add sequins and start sporadically all over your card.  Your card is now complete.  Below is the product list of all supplies I used to create this beautiful card.  I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial and check back again soon.  Have a great day!
